Brain Power

Dance promotes neurological development: By learning to move to rhythms, it stimulates our brains. This improves our cognitive abilities, as well as our neurological health. Research shows that dancing is the only physical cognitive activity to reduce your chances of dementia. No matter your age, this increased brain power improves your mental sharpness and agility

Stay Healthy and Fit

Dance improves flexibility, endurance, strength and muscle development. Dance increases your energy and is good for your heart, lungs and bones. Dancing reduces blood pressure, improves cardiovascular health and lowers risk of obesity. So Dance Your Heart Out.

Dance is a form of art. Dancing can be fun, it will improve your mood and give you an outlet for self-expression. Dancing allows you to take the lead and tell a story, this increases self esteem and will boost your confidence. Dance will stimulate your creativity and encourage art appreciation. You will be exposed to many different music styles and cultures in dance. This broadens your knowledge and tastes

Lifelong

Dancing Improves flexibility, balance & coordination. Flexibility can decrease the chances of injury. It also gives you a wider range of motion as well as improving blood flow to your muscles. Dancing is excellent for your spine, and encourages good posture. As it teaches you where your centre is and develops spatial awareness. When you can carry yourself better, you won’t slouch, and your back, shoulders and neck will benefit.

Feel Good

Dancing releases endorphins that reduce stress and any build up of frustration. Dance improves your mental health and well-being by reducing depression, anxiety and worry. It also improves sleep and your ability to focus.

Connected

Dance keeps you in touch with your body. Dance also helps you connect with your mind, your centre, emotions, and spirit. With all of the cognitive benefits of dance, combined with confidence, dance will strengthen your ability to communicate non-verbally. Not only will your body language improve, but you’ll also learn to read others better. Dance is tied deeply to the roots of our communities and cultures, dance builds awareness and appreciation of the differences and similarities between people. Dancing teaches empathy.
